Here is another screenshot, go use your assumption skills of what these things will do. Apparently support for IR remote, iSight, etc. I don't have my Windows cd to install right now, but I will later tonight. Otherwise, I have to actually start doing some work =/. More updates later in the day.
Looks like that toolbar is just listing USB devices to me. Doesn't mean any of those will actually work under VMWare. Is there a Windows driver for built in iSight or Apple IR?

Yeah, a free period or small amount free would be nice in order to find out if it's something you'll continue to use after the first few weeks. Most of the apps I download only keep their flavor about 5 days. I agree that Dropbox is the bomb though. It's iDisk done right - and free to boot!

Guys, which one should I get?
I've been trying to score an iPad2 and now here comes the new ix.Mac.MarketingName, which sounds awesome! So between this and iPad2, ATV2, Air, MBP, iPhone, Mac Pro, Nano and iMac, what should I get?
Mostly I would use this for web surfing and light photo editing, but it also needs to dry laundry and serve as daily transportation for my 8 mile commute. But, I'm worried the new ix.Mac.MarketingName requires Z-rated tires, which are quite expensive. I'm also curious whether, with the right apps, the ix.Mac.MarketingName can serve as a prophylactic or if it's better to have a dedicated device for that.
So, whaddya think? What other ix.Mac.MarketingName rumors have you heard? :apple:

I switched from ios to android after selling my 3g and getting a Captivate. After owning the captivate and using my friends iphone 4 quite a bit there are 3 things that can get me to switch back.
1. Bigger screen. I'd take an decrease of pixel density over smaller screen size any day. I'd love a 4 inch screen but 3.7 is okay.
2. (puts up flame shield) Iphone 4 feels like a brick. HEAVY. My captivate with a case is feels MUCH lighter than i4. I'd like it if apple could trim the fat somewhere without sacrificing it's great battery life.
3. Better notification system with some sort of widgets (or at least some relevant lockscreen info and quick access to settings). I can't believe it's taken this long and the few rumors of ios 5 haven't been getting my hopes up.
I'm over flash on a phone, I barely ever use it, but I still would like something to fill the gap in the tablet space while html 5 matures.
To the iphone's credit, the overall package is much more polished than android (except for notifications-those are just embarrassing)
and as a bonus, my captivate gps doesn't work for jack so I'm not being tracked. :cool:

I think the current iPod line is just about perfect. I just wish the Shiny Back would go away for the Classic and the Touch. Looks pretty for the first day... then even one scratch blows that.
I think Liquid metal should take care of the scratch problem.
My argument, as well as others, is that you shouldn't have to do that. That's the complaint. They should give an option for a "Vanilla" install, and leave it at that. This is the same issue with Windows. You buy a new PC from DELL, HP, or whoever, and it's filled with all this extra stuff. Sure, I can reformat it, and do all that, but why? It's BRAND NEW. I shouldn't have to do anything, except install the apps I want/need, and files.
If you buy a new Dell or HP, your first step should be to write 0's to the hard drive, then install Linux or some form of BSD.
I'm curious why you would automatically upgrade at all, since you have an iPhone 4 already. What do you expect out of version 5 that you can't do now? I'm not being critical, if that's what you want go for it. I'm just curious why some people plan to upgrade every time, sight unseen.

It's much more than "biochemical pathways" and the habitual firing of familiar neurons. The aspects of psychological dependence that affect spirit, identity, and will can be debilitating and are often the most difficult things to change.
Here's where I respectfully disagree...my background is a little different from your own, however I fully understand where you're coming from as a counselor. It is sometimes easy to separate out chemical vs psychological, especially for argument and treatments sake, but it is important to remember that it all reduces down to chemical interactions; emotions, "spirit," thought, identity... everything. Though much of these interactions are not well understood yet, in time they will, and the treatments for those will become much more advanced, and changing them will become far easier, for better or for worse. So in short, yes, I still do believe that it is all biochemical pathways and the habitual firing of neurons-- the complexity of thought and what the initial origins are often are forgotten, especially in light of a lack of complete understanding.

Grab yourself a copy of xdelta (http://xdelta.org/) and do your fancy small update package yourself. There's even no need to look at Google, this was common practice on Gentoo GNU/Linux years ago (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=318671). I remember running a satellite server myself. However, that were ISDN/Analog/DSL 765k days, who on 16MBit cares whether the updates are 30 or 300MB anymore, as long as Apple hosts the files?

Now, you were complaining I used 100/100 in the CPU analogy? fine, I will change it. CPU will be 90/100 and GPU is 80/100 as the 30% increase in cpu and 30% decrease in gpu, we will see a difference of 117/100 and 56/100. Well, ATT iP4 here, I can confirm 3rd party apps pop open then animate when opening after that.
All Apple core apps open with animation on the first shot.
Animations seem better than .1 and .2, but not totally smooth.

Granted all of the issues everyone has had with the iPhone 4 over the past year (death grip/Antennagate, etc), I doubt that colour is going to be the least of their concerns.Not to be nit-picky, but "death grip" was "Antennagate" -- what's the "etc" part you mean? It's like you wanted to create a list of Apple problems, so you mentioned the one biggee TWO DIFFERNT WAYS and then stuck on "etc" to make is seem like oddles and oddles of problems ... I really really want to get onto the next set of never ending threads that will go something like this:
"should I get the 21" X.XX Ghz i5 or the 27" X.XX Ghz i3?"
And then everyone will get to ask "what are you going to do with it?"
and then all of the "I love the large 27" screen" and of course "I had to return the 27" screen it was too big!" And the "more cores is better" or the silly goofball with the "I think a larger Ghz number means its faster".
and then we can move on to all of the "Is 4 gigs of ram enough or should I get more?" threads
