Our demand should be reasonable.. The law makers knows what kind of people they want. One may have MBA or MA, and they may feel their degree is valuable to America. However it is up to the lawmakers to decide what they want.
One guy was asking whether social science considered as science as it is having science. I am not undermining any degree or any branch. We have to appricate atleast they are excempting STEM from numarical count.
As knnmbd said, the period of IT is over. Manufacturing has gone to China. IT has gone to India. What america need at this moment is innovation, research, new technology, alternate energy to overcome growing energy crisis, environmental care health care, nanotechnology, any advanced research to keep america in leading edge. Can someone confirm if finger printing required for both paper (by mail) and on-line AP application? Somewhere I read that finger printing is required only for on-line applicants. Is that true?
It will save me lot of trouble as my nearest INS office for finger printing is about 150 miles away.

Paper filed EAD (two times) and AP (one time). Didn't get FP notice. Got approval smoothly.
No experience with e-file.

For example if the minimum requirements of the job is BS with little or no experience, you would be in an EB3 category, irrespective of whether you have a MS or a PhD.
I am a lil bit confused here. If there is a job that requires little or NO EXPERIENCE, would it be hard to find a US Citizen?

Current Status: Case received and file gathering dust waiting for visa number.
On MM DD, YYYY, we received this application and mailed you a document describing how we process it. But you do not need to bother. Our system is so screwed up that we did not know how many cases we had pending. We did not communicate with DOL and DOS properly; so we ended up causing the July Visa Bulletin fiasco, which actually screws up your case even more if you were not one of the lucky applicants to have actually obtained your GC. But your increased fees for EAD & AP renewals have afforded us new janitors, so we will try to keep your files dust free.
P.S : If you are an advanced degree holder born in India. Hahahaha.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have signed all the forms and included all the documents. Wrote a cover letter listing all the documents in the packet(like Affidavits, W2's, Passport copy etc.), but in a hurry forgot to sign the cover letter.

at the interview for my mothers. the lady said, FBI finger print check is different then name check.. People get stuck in name check because they may have a common name. So for example one with a very common name and a long one, will be stuck in name check for a while. Name check is done the country where you are from. FBI request that from the native country. I know lots of Inidan who have long names, have been stuck for a year to 2. Same token Muslims with names like Mohammed, will be stuck for years.
also there is luck there too. She said something in regards to that new application which are filed recentlly dont take that long. Usually most 6 monts. Who know, all I know my mother is 60 years old, and she was told at the interview that her name is stukc in name check..

Just try to be optimistic and move on. Something is better then nothing. Atleast now you know, you are good after 180 days, if you are not that happy with your current job. But untill then take is easy and keep going with your day to day works. Most folks are much better than they were prior to July. Anyway, the last quarter is typically slow when it comes to job market and use this time to refresh your skills and wait for the right time to make the right move.
Also having EAD/AP etc.. is better compared to being on H1/L1, but remember it is not as good as having GC. Atlest untill you get you GC, you have to be very careful. Also AC21, make sure you know the rule and take the right steps when invoking AC21.

Generally speaking, it is always better to re-enter on nonimmigrant visa than on AP. This is because when one re-enters on non-immigrant visa, one receives a non-immigrant status, which is great. H4 is not dependent on EAD or vice versa. Remember, to loose H4 visa status you need to brake immigration law or do something that violates the immigration law. Technically speaking, if one works on EAD, one does not brake any law due to the EAD being valid. So yes, she can re-enter on h4, receiving H-4 status, and still work as long as EAD is valid. This is a gray area, but as per my attorney it is allowable due to the vague nature of the INA (Immigration and Naturalization Act), which states, that one looses non-immigrant status when one "works without authorization." However, think about it. If one is on H-4, one works on EAD at the same time, one does not loose non-immigrant status because such a person performs "authorized employment" through valid EAD.

What else do you want Bro. Give 30 days time to USCIS to send your card. we, most of us, would me more satisfied just to see the magical words - Current Status: Card production ordered in our case status.
Regarding holding card in physically, have to wait some time. Which should not be more taxing than waiting to see the magical words.
I started calling my friends the same night that I got GC, but back in my mind I was still not sure and thought "whatif USCIS made a mistake" and thought may be I should wait until I get the card.
I have spent coupla nights searching forums what kind of email people get when GC approved. I found most get Approval Email and Card production. I got only one email. I am still not able to believe I got GC. It was like a distant dream few weeks ago.

I had to live with a 70-300 Sigma that was f/3.5-5.6 for a long time. While I made do for sports and motorsports type stuff, my world opened up when I upgraded to a fixed f/2.8 zoom. Hold off a bit, if needed, and get a faster lens. You'll be much happier.
If you're mostly going to be doing landscapes and whatnot, the slower lens will work just fine.
