Apple's new release timeframe has zero to do with phone upgrade eligibility. Thus BS. And I bet AT&T call center people are so tired of Apple owners they probably make shite up just to mess with their minds and they sit around the lunchroom telling the stories. :p

In Fusion, can you have more than the measly 8MB of vram that Parallels gives you to work with in Windows?

CAD programs barely run with 8MB of vram.

Wish I could get my taxes done, worked 3 jobs last year and only got my W2 for one of them :( didnt make much though...probably about 4k so maybe a $200 refund if that. Anyone have a guess? I always mark no dependencies or whatever so they take all the taxes out.

    What?

Seriously dude, you're in the wrong thread.

This isn't the "What Is Your Wish?" or "Random Thought For The Day" thread.

Can the front page print a retraction?...

AT&T CSRs don't receive any official information about ANY phone releases prior to general public... Let alone an iPhone release.

We weren't informed about the iPhone 4 being released until AFTER Apple's official press conference last year.

Even though I know this is a site for rumors... I've found this site to make sure the BS rumors were weeded out before it would become front-page news... But making an unsubstantiated statement by a random AT&T CSR front-page material is just plain bad journalism.

BTW: AT&T has been cracking down on customer's upgrade eligibility dates. If you downgrade/remove features/plans on your account odds are the date will be changed.

AT&T makes no promises that the date is constant and it can really change at any time...

The customer related to the article probably was suspended too many times for non-pay and that's the reason why the date was changed... Not because of some crazy conspiracy to correlate with the next iPhone release...

So you wouldn't know by now that vacation days are mysteriously blacked out between June and July for employees such as yourself? That has ALWAYS been the giveaway for employees at Apple, AT&T, and Verizon for iPhone releases. Usually, reports begin trickling in during May that employee vacation days are out for a certain period of time, usually around WWDC, so that all hands can be on deck for a major event (like an iPhone release).

I'd be willing to bet that for the first time in quite a while, you - an AT&T rep, are able to schedule the 3rd and 4th week of June off.

On the Software part of the wireless MM page, there is a picture that shows a stack of new options and a slightly redesigned preference pane - I hope those options aren't wireless-only, I just plugged in my MM and they aren't there.

Software Update coming??That's the normal Mighty Mouse pane. It changes to that when you're using one. I can see you've never used one...

I reckon the zune will be in the same situation as the sony clie. Its gonna be an amazing product with a million more features than an ipod, but will millions of people buy. Just as sony couldnt compete with palm, microsoft cant compete with apple, but the xbox is very impressive for a software company so im not going to underestimate microsoft.

I am getting tired of feature after feature that no one needs. It makes the devices overcomplicated and moe expensive.

I don't need WiFi in an MP3 player. But since MS will have, Apple will have to add it in order to compete. Thank god they haven't added the FM tuner into the player. Which everyone seems to want...

    LOL. love all these posts.

Can I start a post thats about how Im anxiously awaiting the END of all these "when is the new iMac coming out" threads?

I really really want to get onto the next set of never ending threads that will go something like this:

    "should I get the 21" X.XX Ghz i5 or the 27" X.XX Ghz i3?"

And then everyone will get to ask "what are you going to do with it?"
and then all of the "I love the large 27" screen" and of course "I had to return the 27" screen it was too big!" And the "more cores is better" or the silly goofball with the "I think a larger Ghz number means its faster".

and then we can move on to all of the "Is 4 gigs of ram enough or should I get more?" threads

Oh, and lets not forget all of the "I wish it had a larger drive/better video/more SSD options/matte screen/full sized bluetooth keyboard/USB 3/eSATA/24" option!!" posts. Those are my favorite. Wishing, LOL. You get what you get and you dont throw a fit?

    please lets move on...

Do you think that my post was okay?

What about a screen bigger than 21.5" but less than 27"?

Team? OS X is actually developed by one guy in the boiler room who was actually fired years ago but still shows up to work...

Sad thing is by the way this seems to be an accurate description of OS X development.

I just updated mine and there is a noticeable difference in speed with this update. It is much faster in opening applications and text messages.

I'm noticing a little quicker general UI navigation, but the third party apps still don't show their launch animation unless opened first, exited, and then launched again. Only once loaded into the memory can you go from app to home screen to app and see the full animation.

Yet, oddly, Apple's stock apps are entirely unaffected.

This is great news. If the macbooks go Core 2 Duo then I will have a very difficult decision to make. Regardless I'm going to hold for about 3 weeks to see how these things work out for everyone. If they are, for the most part, problem free then I'm all over this.

No chance for samsung. Their products are obviously copies. The icons even are crappy...

Don't kid yourself, Apples just doing what Apple does best, whine and cry. Point fingers and sue. Then con the gullible into buying anything with an Apple logo.

Apple is the worlds best marketing company. The only question is how long before it ends. History proves nothing stays on top forever.

I'm a little confused. People want to play games on this?

Would not be my first choice for gaming (not that I play games, but I did do flight sims once)

Is there anything else I should be concerned about? Maybe external monitor resolution? Movies?....I don't think so.

Big problem for intensive video stuff perhaps? but then again; an Air?

Could someone clarify this for me: Aren't hard drives too slow to make use of Thunderbolt anyway? In a typical USB 2.0 external hard drive, what is the bottleneck in speed: The speed at which the hard drive spins, or the USB 2.0 connection? If it's the USB, then why do people even care about the RPM of a drive? If it's the RPM, then isn't USB 2.0 fast enough to run a hard drive at its native speed?

You're talking about spinning hard drives. Newer SSD drives perform MUCH faster, in fact the fastest right now require direct connection to a high speed PCI-e 8x or 16x. When you start building massive raid and grid arrays, you start reaching a point where you can saturate the line as well.

For a typical consumer this is usually overkill, but for those of us that actually use our workstations for rendering, video editing, heavy data processing, we need this kind of connectivity.

    Sounds Good

i5 or i7 CPU combined with 512 GB of storage would be frickin' amazing. Throw in an anti-glare display and a backlit keyboard and I would just about roll over and die.
If they made a Macbook Air with i5 plus 512 GB of storage and a backlit keyboard... even I might buy it! :)

Is Verizon and the competition any better? I don't think so, and that's why AT&T can get away with not investing in additional towers.

AT&T is collecting our money, but not spending the money needed to provide the service we are paying for. I suppose it's great on paper for them and their bottom line, but at some point will this catch up with them?? We are at least a generation behind the rest of the world but AT&T can get away with it because the rest of the competition is doing the same.

I wonder what is pushing the other countries into 4G, and at this rate we may soon be 2 generations behind. A similar situation exists with internet broadband where the rest of the world gets faster internet than us. :(
