I e-filed yesterday and the address came as USCIS Nebraska Service Center, as expected. My 485 is pending there and my previous EAD was also from NSC.
Where was your last EAD and 485 applied and processed at?

Has any one else experienced this? From the two posters above (which includes me) EAD and AP efiled applications went to National Benefits Center and generated the receipt numbers starting with MSC?
Please share your experience. Is there any thing to worry in this case?

Hi ,
I am working from home which is NJ on h1b and my company is based DC as my seat is located in DC and i connect remotely to my computer located in DC office , i have below question regarding the LCA and payroll
1. Which location i need to mentioned as primary ,home or where company located?
The LCA should list the job location as your home address.
2. Which state should the payroll runs where i live or where my seat is located?
It doesn't matter for immigration purposes.

In my opinion, one of the more intriguing product announcements from Nikon today was the Coolpix 8700. If it improves significantly from the Sony, that could be a killer product. Right now, Canon is lacking a bit in the true consumer DSLR market. But then again, PMA is right around the corner. The Sony has Zeiss glass and 28mm WA. But the CA and Noise are horrible. Isn't the Nikon 8700 has same sensor size as the Sony 828? Wait and see how the Nikon performs in those deaprtments!

The court is saying that since this is a non-binding memo; the court does not need to judge whether or not the USCIS definition of an employer employee relationship is valid or not.
It just means that H1B petitions that have denied based on the 'control' issue can be appealed presumably. But this might only be an option for large IT companies; which is probably what the USCIS knew and planned for all along. I think the goal of the USCIS is to apply this memo selectively against the smaller Desi consultancies.

Has anyone in Charlotte, NC got a extension on the Driver's license on the basis on the H1-B renewal application receipt.
My spouse's driver's license expires this month end. I have applied for h1-b/h4 renewal, yet to receive the application receipt.But wanted to know if anyone here in Charlotte,NC got a extension/grace (30days or 90days) on the basis of the receipt.

Guru's please help with the following situation: Labor PD: Dec 2002, Labor approved Feb 2005, I-140 approved May 2005, Filed I-485 (because of retrogation) in May 2006 for both me and wife. Got EAD Dec 2006. Got laid off in Feb 2007 from sponsoring company and decided that I have had enough of US immigration waiting and returned to home country for good in April 2007. Changed address to friends US address for USCIS records just to make sure that any communication from USCIS does not get lost in the mail. Was sure that the employer will cancel the whole GC process. But to my suprise on April 21st 2008, received the automated email from USCIS that 485 has been approved. The I-797 approval notice of action was received at my friends US address with a note that the plastic card should arrive within 30 days. This was back in April-May 2008 time frame. Well the plastic card never arrived inspite of phone calls to USCIS to either cancel the 485 or send the card.
Can someone please educate me as to what I should do get the 485 cancelled and stop further processing of my wife's 485. I am afraid that I am stuck in a situation where the USCIS records indicate that I am a permanent resident when they never fully approved my case in time, while I have been out of the US for 2 years and do not intend to return. The US Consulate here has been of no help. Will this have any overhang for future US visits/immigration for me and my wife or for my children who are US Citizens.

I am on Adv-Parole (with EAD) and planning to visit India in July 2010.
I know that UK and France require transit visa, but I was wondering whether I can fly via KLM (Amsterdam) OR Lufthansa (Frankfurt) without any transit visa ?

As far as I know, you can file (or even decide not to file if you have H-1) anytime. This should not be an issue. In fact, one my friend's was in similar boat, he filed his EAD after gap of 3 months and got it approved.
EAD is only a backup for most of us if we are working on H1B. But it is better to have it renewed as you never know when you may have to use it due to layoff, firing or any other unfortunate event. It is more likely to happen due to current state of economy. CIS allows us to continue working on EAD after 180 days of filling 485 under AC21 rule.
However there are some unfortunate incidents going on where IO wrongfully denied 485 petitions when a person changed jobs using AC-21. I urge you to take part in IV AC-21 letters campaign which will help you and all of us to survive any unfortunate, unforseen job loss due to current downturn in economy. It is actully very easy, just print 4 pages and mail it thru' USPS. Won't even cost you $2. Remember this for yours and our future and peace of mind. my wife is US citizen , applied for permanent residency (green card) almost 6 months back , my interview was 2 days back, everything went thru alrite, the immigration officer said at the end of interview , " your case been aproved, but we did not get the background chk from FBI , as soon as we get it we are going to mail you the green card "

What are your impressions of the D200? Are you happy with it?
Mine shows this lightly under some conditions. It's not been a major problem for me, unlike what some overly vocal folks at another forum would like everyone to think, but I'll probably send it in to have it calibrated anyway.
